Free Expo and Family Fun Day in Chesterville this Wednesday

Linking Hands will be holding a free Expo and Family Fund Day event this Wednesday.

It will be held at North Dundas District High School from 10 to three that day. Activities include: bouncy castles, games, prizes, crafts, ride-on toys for kids, face painting, and more provided by a team of local agencies. A couple members of Paw Patrol will also be making regular appearances throughout the five-hour event.

There will be a performance by Sing Song Party Time at 12:30 and Story Time with SDG Library at 2:30 in the afternoon. Popcorn and cotton candy will be available for purchase. The Dundas Youth Centre will be hosting a canteen with lunch and snacks for purchase, beginning at 11 and ending at 12:15.

Organizers say this event was created to give Dundas County residents an opportunity to speak directly with agencies and businesses about the services, resources and products available. They add this year, there are several new agency booths, including WDMH Foundation, Social Support Services, Seaway Valley Community Health Centre, as well as new businesses with Epicure and Tocara products.

Linking Hands coordinator Sandy Casselman says despite back-to-back snowstorms in 2017 and 2018, around 250 people attended the event. With the forecast looking clear for this year, they’re hoping to see those numbers increase.

Linking Hands is an initiative of the House of Lazarus. For more information, visit www.linkinghandsdundas.ca or contact Casselman at [email protected] or phone 613-989-3830.
