A ground-breaking scientific report assesses how local rivers, lakes and wetlands may be affected by climate change. The report is the first in a series of studies which will become the foundation for the Mississippi-Rideau Climate Change Adaptation Strategy. The Mississippi and Rideau Valley Conservation Authorities report increasing water temperatures and changing precipitation patterns have been identified as key local issues. These changes are already being observed and will continue to impact water levels over time, making the watersheds more vulnerable.
