Woman facing charges for having cannabis in front seat

A woman from British Columbia is facing charges after a traffic stop in Kemptville. The 26-year-old was pulled over on County Road 43 on Saturday night. Officers noticed a container of cannabis sitting between the driver and front passenger seat.

She was issued a Provincial Offence Notice for driving a vehicle with cannabis readily available.

The OPP is reminding people that the same rule applies to cannabis as alcohol. The substance must be out of the driver’s reach and properly sealed. To review the rules, click here.

If you suspect someone is driving while impaired, call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stopper at 1-800-222-8477.
