The Kemptville Kinsmen are getting ready for the Santa Claus Parade. The event is set for November 24 beginning at 5:00pm.

Chair Terry Shephard says it’s been 11 years since the parade has been held at night. He says the Kinsmen ran a poll that found 64 per cent of people prefer a night time parade.

Shephard says the route has also changed. The parade will start at the Kemptville Campus and end at Holy Cross Catholic School this year.

There are currently 35 floats registered for the parade. People who want to put a float in the parade can email kinsmensantaparade@gmail.com.

Shephard says donations will be collected during the parade. The Rotary Club of Kemptville is collecting food, Royal LePage is collecting presents and the North Grenville Fire Service is doing a boot drive.

The Kinsmen have been running the parade since 1973.
