Kemptville Players transforming municipal theatre into Irish pub

The Kemptville Players is getting ready to hit the stage. The local group is performing Lafferty’s Wake at the Urbandale Arts Centre. The production runs November 16,17 and 18 and again November 23, 24 and 25.

Dinner theatre shows are happening both Saturday nights. Tickets are $15 for the show and $45 for the dinner theatre.

Creative Director Monica Cleland says it’s a comedy about the wake of Charlie Lafferty set in Ireland.

There are seven main characters in the cast and three people in the band performing Irish songs. The production was written by Susan Turlish.

Cleland says the entire theatre complex is being transformed into Rory’s Pub for the show and the audience is being treated as family and friends of Charlie. She says there will be a surprise or two in store for the audience.

Tickets are available at B&H Grocer, Business Strategies and the North Grenville Municipal Centre. Proceeds from the show will go back into Kemptville Players productions.
