Mountain Orchards raises $2,200 in memory of Jonathan Pitre

Donations have been rolling in throughout the apple picking season at Mountain Orchards. The corn maze at the local orchard paid homage to Jonathan Pitre this year. The Butterfly Boy passed away in April due to complications from epidermolysis bullosa (EB).

Owner Phil Lyall put out two donation boxes to collect dollars for DEBRA Canada, which supports families impacted by EB. A total of $2,200 was raised.

Lyall says the maze was a big draw for people and brought new faces to the orchard this year. He says Pitre hits a soft spot in everyone’s heart.

The donations were added up yesterday and the money will be sent to DEBRA this week.

Lyall says he was very pleased and surprised by how much was raised. For more information about DEBRA, or to donate, click here.
