Open invitation for coffee date with local firefighters

The North Grenville Fire Service invites the public to come out to McDonald’s for a free small coffee. The province-wide initiative known as Coffee with a Firefighter is set for tomorrow. It starts at 10:00am and wraps up at 12:00 noon.

Fire Prevention Officer Shannon Armitage says it’s an opportunity for people to have a conversation with local firefighters, ask questions and voice concerns.

Coffee with a Firefighter is part of Fire Prevention Month in North Grenville. The theme this year is ‘Look. Listen. Learn. Be Aware. Fire Can Happen Anywhere.’

Two local firefighters will be on site at The Kemptville Mall chatting with residents. There will also be a fire truck for people to check out.

Armitage says people should stay tuned for more fire prevention activities this month. For more information, contact the fire service directly by calling 613-258-2438.
