Councillor candidate Kristin Strackerjan focuses on health, wellness and safety

Kristin Strackerjan is running for councillor in North Grenville. The Canadian Air Force Major has served with the military for over 24 years. Strackerjan says she is focused on basic needs: health, wellness and safety.

She says the community needs to attract new services that promote healthy lifestyles. Trails and crosswalks are key components of that plan, according to Strackerjan.

She says the municipality needs to take a serious look at how new developments are affecting the water and sewage system in the urban area. Addressing safety concerns on County Road 43 is another priority for Strackerjan.

She says new recreation facilities in North Grenville will have to be looked at through a financial lens and partnerships could be the answer. One example is working with the hotel that’s coming to town to buy slots of time for residents to use its pool, says Strackerjan.

She says more green spaces in new developments will bring recreation opportunities as well.

Strackerjan says she will promote a professional, positive and proactive way of doing business in North Grenville. She says moving forward as a team is more effective than a top down approach to leadership.
