A local fundraiser that ran throughout the month of August brought in over $800 for Ryan Forbes. The 39-year-old Kemptville resident was diagnosed with stage four cancer in July and is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatments.
Richardson Hair Design donated 100 per cent of the proceeds from men’s haircuts to Forbes and his family.
Owner Stephanie Richardson says the salon saw increased traffic during the fundraiser. A collection jar for the family remains in place and the local salon also has #dieselsarmy bracelets available.
The money was donated through the GoFundMe page set up for Forbes. The crowdfunding campaign will help cover the loss of income, childcare costs, parking, travel, meals and future treatment plans not covered by insurance. To donate, click here.Â
