Blood Donor Clinic being held in honour of Abigail Hosick

Canadian Blood Services is running a blood donor clinic in honour of a local 8-year-old undergoing cancer treatments. Abigail Hosick was diagnosed with Lymphoblastic Lymphoma in January 2017.

The blood donor clinic is set for Thursday at the Joel Steele Community Centre in Winchester. It runs from 3:30pm to 8:30pm.

Territory Manager Mary Ann St. Michael says Abigail’s parents will be on site thanking donors. Canadian Blood Services is looking for all blood types. St. Michael says Type O Negative is compatible with all other blood types and is always in high demand.

Canadian Blood Services needs 100,000 new donors from across the country this year. People who have never donated blood can take a short quiz online by clicking here to see if they would make a good donor. The process of donating blood takes about one hour from start to finish. If you have any questions, call Canadian Blood Services directly at 1-888-2DONATE.
