Firefighter being raffled off at bridal fashion show

Tickets are available for a fundraising bridal fashion show hosted by the Kemptville District Hospital Auxiliary. The event, featuring wedding dresses through the ages, is set for September 23. It will be held at St. John’s United Church beginning at 1:30pm.

Tickets are $20 each and all proceeds will go towards new equipment for the hospital. Organizer Linda Carnegie says a wide variety of dresses will be modelled, including ones dating back to the ‘30s.

Volunteers will provide a description of the dresses and explain the changes in fashion over the years. High tea will be served following the show.

North Grenville firefighters will be helping out with ushering duties during the event. One firefighter will be raffled off to bring in extra dollars.

Volunteers made over 100 fascinators for attendees to wear. The Auxiliary is still looking for very petite models for the show. If you know of any high school students looking for volunteer hours, contact Carnegie directly by emailing [email protected] or calling 613-258-4581. People can get tickets at the KDH Cafe or through Carnegie.
