Mountain Orchards pays homage to Butterfly Boy Jonathan Pitre

Jonathan Pitre lives on through a corn maze at Mountain Orchards. The Butterfly Boy passed away in April due to complications from epidermolysis bullosa (EB).

Owner Phil Lyall says he followed Pitre’s story because they shared a common Canadian passion – hockey. Lyall plans on putting a donation box at the entrance of the maze to bring in dollars for DEBRA, which supports families impacted by EB.

The design for the maze, which reads Jonathan Pitre – Butterfly Boy, was done by Lyall. It took him two days to cut it out in the field. Mountain Orchards opens to the public this Saturday.
