Burn ban lifted in North Grenville

Bonfires are back. But residents are being asked to be cautious when it comes to open air burning. The North Grenville Fire Service made the call today to lift the burn ban that has been in place since July 9.

The fire service says conditions are slowly improving and rain forecasted for this week will help. The fire risk level remains high due to areas of dry ground cover that are taking more time to green up.

The public is encouraged to limit open air burning where possible and exercise extreme caution if they choose to have a fire.

Residents are required to call ahead to the fire service before having a fire. You can contact the fire service by calling 613-258-2438.
