$5,000 grant buys two new pieces of equipment for Riverside Park

The Municipality of North Grenville got a $5,000 grant from the Frank Cowan Company Hometown Program. The cheque presentation was held yesterday afternoon. The money was used to buy two new pieces of playground equipment at Riverside Park, which were installed in May. Parks and Recreation Director Mark Guy says the equipment is a great addition.

The Frank Cowan Company launched the grant program in 2017 in honour of its 90th anniversary as a municipal insurance provider. The company put out the call to its clients, who could apply for grants up to $5,000. Frank Cowan representative Debra Murphy says the purpose of the program is to give back.

The grant program was originally supposed to run for just one year, but due to overwhelming interest, the company decided to keep it going in 2018.
