Sue Higgins has served as a librarian in the community for nearly 30 years. A retirement party was held for Higgins at the North Grenville Public Library on Wednesday. She says mentoring staff is what she will miss most.
Roberta Russell says Higgins was the force behind the Friends of the North Grenville Public Library, which formed 20 years ago. Higgins, along with the Friends, were instrumental in the creation of a central library in downtown Kemptville. Mayor David Gordon says Higgins has vision.
Her last day is June 28. Deputy Mayor Barb Tobin says working with Higgins has been a pleasure.
Rachel Brown, the library’s incoming CEO, started on June 13. Brown has a strong background in health sciences, working in non-profit health sectors providing information services and IT support.
