Both the girls’ and boys’ varsity soccer teams at St. Michael Catholic High School are heading to the Leeds and Grenville Secondary School Athletic Association (LGSSAA) finals. The girls’ and boys’ teams will face off against Rideau District High School. The boys’ are hosting Rideau at St. Mike’s tomorrow. Coach Lidia Lefebvre says the girls’ have excelled through mentorship.
The teams have students from grade nine to 12. There are 19 students on the girls’ team. Lefebvre says athletes build each other up.
If the teams are successful at LGSSAA, they will move on to the Eastern Ontario Secondary School Athletic Association (EOSSAA) finals.
