A burn ban is in place as of today for North Grenville. The fire service has been putting a ban in place during the seasonal transition period for the past few years. Deputy Fire Chief Randy Urslak says the reason is dead grass.
The burn ban provides a buffer of time for the grass to green up and become less flammable. Urslak says it helps prevent grass fires. Â
Residents are asked to call the North Grenville Fire Service every time they want to have a fire to find out if there is a ban in place. For more information, visit northgrenville.ca.
