The OPP has launched a new campaign and this week, they’re after distracted drivers.
Whether it’s eating, drinking, your children in the back seat or your phone; distracted driving comes in many forms and even passengers are being encouraged to speak up when they’re in the car with someone who isn’t paying attention.
Distracted driving remains among the highest risk factors for everyone on the road and the pledge is aimed at saving the lives of not just those using their phones while driving but also those around them.
The campaign runs through all of this week and focuses on those of us who still pick up handheld devices while behind the wheel. Throughout this week, OPP officers will be officers will be targeting these and any other forms of distraction they observe as impairing a motorist’s driving ability.
