CDSBEO receives funding approval

Three capital project requests by the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario have been approved.

The Ministry of Education announced the funding approval this week and the money will be coming from their Capital Priorities Program and Early Years Capital Program. The approved projects will be at Holy Name of Mary Catholic School in Almonte, St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Ganaoque and St. Finnan’s Catholic School in Alexandria.

Holy Name of Mary is getting almost $5 million so they can build an addition consisting of six classrooms and a daycare. CDSBEO Board Chair Todd Lalonde says there are currently five portables on site and the addition will provide students a more modern learning environment. The addition is scheduled for completion at the end of this year.

A little over $1 million out of the Early Year’s Capital Program for a daycare at St. Joseph and St. Finnan’s infant and toddler daycare program is receiving almost $270,000 to update their infant and toddler daycare. Both projects are expected to be finished by September of 2018.
