Goal met in fundraiser for family that lost their home to fire

The fundraising goal for a family that lost everything in a house fire has been met.

After a house fire in Hallville that destroyed the home of Robin and Brenda Berard beyond repair, a GoFundMe page was set up. The goal was to raise $10,000 for the family as they deal with the tragedy. On Wednesday, donations surpassed the $10,000 mark.

An update to the GoFundMe page says that the family does have insurance coverage, but that it will take a long time before the home is rebuilt. The organizer says she didn’t want to see the family deal with financial concerns throughout the process.

The family says they’ve been “touched by the support in such a short amount of time” according to the organizer.
