Digital upgrades in Leeds and Grenville libraries

Libraries across Ontario are getting upgrades to their digital systems.

Last week the provincial government announced improvements to digital services at 307 libraries, and library organisations, in Ontario. Libraries in the Leeds and Grenville area will be receiving some of the over $3 million dollars that will be given out. The Prescott Public Library Board will receive $3,000 and the North Grenville Township Public Library Board will get $4,351. Also receiving money are; the Augusta Township Public Library Board getting $3,000, $3,150 for Athens Public Library, Brockville Public Library will get $4,123 and the Elizabethtown-Kitley Township Public Library is receiving $5,205.

During the same announcements the shortlist finalists for the Ontario Public Services Awards were announced. The Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry County Public Library Board has made the cut for their Library Express system, an innovative service that provides access to library resources in communities that are underserved. They will also receive almost $30,000 to improve their digital services.
