Festival and event organizers can now apply for funding through the Celebrate Ontario 2018 program.
According to the government, the application for 2018 has been improved and streamlined to help applicants respond to questions more effectively and conveniently.
The program boasts three categories. The first is for a single-year and supports new or existing tourism events with programming enhancements and marketing campaigns to increase foot traffic. There’s also a multi, two-year category for large events with operating expenses of at least $1 million. The third is the Celebrate Ontario Blockbuster Category and supports bidding and hosting costs for major one-time events or events that do not recur annually in Ontario, but travel nationally or internationally to new destinations.
Both Kemptville Live Music Festival and the Big Brothers Big Sisters Ribfest received funding through the program last year.
