A Canadian doctor has agreed never to practice medicine again after a huge infection scare. Hundreds of patients were warned they may have contracted HIV or Hepatitis C from Christiane Farazli’s practice in Ottawa. Other complaints against her came from patients who say she didn’t use enough anesthetic when doing surgery on them. The College of Physicians and Surgeons found Farazli unprofessional and incompetent yesterday, and ordered her never to diagnose, treat, or write prescriptions for anyone again. Her lawyer says she has agreed to all the terms.
