The Energy East Pipeline Project is at the Pre-Application Project Description stage meaning the proponent has only filed a project description with the National Energy Board (NEB). This does not constitute an Application. In an interview with STAR 975, North Grenville Chief Administrative Officer Brian Carre said with respect to the Municipality’s position, nothing has changed. Until a formal application is acknowledged by the NEB and we are provided with the necessary information that will allow us to understand the environmental impacts, including but not limited to our drinking water, air, land and associated risks to the Rideau River system, he does not expect any statement either for or against the project, to be made.
