Now that barbecue season is upon us it’s important to keep safety in mind. Not only should you check your barbecue tank and burners to ensure they are working properly, you should also take care when cleaning your barbecue. There are several barbecue cleaning tools available, with the metal brush being the most popular. If this body of the brush is plastic and it’s left to sit in the heat beside the barbecue, however, it will change shape and eventually lose its bristles. Metal bristles left on the grill get into your food and can cause serious injuries if consumed. Better to use a wooden brush and check the bristles often to ensure they are not loose.
