North Grenville hands out Community Grants to 8 groups

Eight local groups or organizations received 2016 Community Grants this year from the Municipality of North Grenville. *

Three applicants were unsuccessful, for  a variety of reasons. Mayor David Gordon says he was told by the Community Grants committee that the application from the Kemptville Farmers’ Market was one of those whose request for a grant was turned down.

The comment from the committee was that the money requested could not be used for the intended purpose, which was to apply for more funding with another party. That is called program stacking and that practice is ineligible. That doesn’t mean they can’t learn from the experience and try again in the fall.

The Kemptville Youth Centre, Kemptville Tennis Club and Kemptville and District Home Support were among the successful grant recipients.
