St. Michael Catholic High School in Kemptville was awarded Gold for this year’s Ecoschools assessment.
Each year St. Mike’s takes on environmental initiatives such as: battery, paper, and plastic recycling; ban the bottle campaign; school grounds greening; school grounds clean up; and embedding environmental stewardship in the curriculum. The school is then assessed on the results.
St. Mike’s has made steady progress over the past four years since restarting the program winning Bronze in 2014, Silver in 2015 and now Gold in 2016.
