The Annual Gaelic Glen Horse Shows take place later this month in Oxford Mills. The 16th Annual Spring Bronze Show is on Saturday, April 26th with the Silver/Bronze Show on May 3rd and 4th. Originally started by the late Carol Durie and now carrying on under the direction of her daughter Suzanne, the Hunter/Jumper horse shows have steadily grown to be part of the successful Silver and Bronze circuit in the Ottawa Valley. With Carol’s passing in 2010, the shows have an additional goal; raising money for a good cause. Each year the shows raise over $1000 which is given to the Carol Durie Memorial Golf Tournament. This tournament has raised approximately $150,000 for the Kemptville District Hospital Mammography campaign to help in the fight to end Breast Cancer.
