Industrial representative named for Prescott in St. Lawrence Corridor Eco Dev Commission

The Town of Prescott has named their Industrial Representative with the St. Lawrence Corridor Economic Development Commission.

At the council meeting last night it was announced that Shelley Bacon, Owner and CEO of Northern Cables Inc., had been selected for the position. Bacon attended McGill University and graduated with a Bachelor of Metallurgical Engineering in 1975 before completing his MBA at McMaster University while working full time. He is a member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario, Electro-Federation Canada, and ASM International, while holding the position of volunteer director at the local YMCA and a seat with the Rideau St. Lawrence Science Fair Committee.

The St. Lawrence Economic Development Commission is made up of businesses in the marine or industrial sectors that have links to the St. Lawrence. Member’s benefits include participation on committees working on issues that affect members and workshops reserved for members.
