A CHEO employee and now former Algonquin College instructor has publicly shared the private information of almost 300 patients.
Handouts containing names, birth dates, surgical procedures, and medical i.d.’s were given out February 1st and 2nd to 32 students in the instructor’s class.
The students in the Health, Policy & Public Safety, and Community studies program were using them as a training tool on how to support surgeries in a hospital setting.
CHEO says both the hospital and college did not allow the use of the information.
The hospital says a disciplinary process is underway regarding the employee.
