This year’s Kemptville & District Sports Hall of Fame inductees include the 1976 Kemptville Junior A Softball Team. Their manager – a Sports Hall of Fame Inductee himself – Jack Higgins, has very sharp memories of an exciting season.
Most of the team members are expected to be in attendance at Thursday’s ceremony. Higgins remembers the year they changed levels and won eight out of nine tournaments.
When it came to selecting a team to nominate for this year’s Kemptville & District Sports Hall of Fame, Higgins said they had a few good ones to choose from.
Also being inducted in the Kemptville & District Sports Hall of Fame this year are Derrick Byrd for Fastball and Hockey, and Savanah Wilson for Equine Endurance Racing. The September 24th event is free to attend; just call Tammy at the municipal offices to let her know you are coming.
