Grenville County is getting a funding boost to help preserve its history.
The Grenville County Historical Society is receiving $48,933 in federal funding to be used for its Grenville County newspaper digitization project.
The money is coming from Library and Archives Canada’s Documentary Heritage Communities Program and the local project is one of 37 across the country to share in $1.4 million.
Federal officials say the projects were selected for the significant impact they will have on documentary heritage preservation, and access, and in the broader community.
