Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes MPP Steve Clark says we are at a crossroads in history.
His comment comes a day after his government tabled a budget that calls for a $14 billion deficit this fiscal year, $10 billion higher than forecast last fall, with total spending topping $232 billion.
It also delays plans to balance the budget by a year, to the spring of 2028.
Clark says they could sit back and decide not to respond to U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariff threats but, through the budget they’ve introduced, they have made it crystal clear that the best way to protect Ontario is to unleash our province’s economy.
He tells Moose FM that he feels it’s a good budget for not only the province but especially the people in his riding.
“Whether it be on the health and education side, or on the skills training in working and building houses or critical infrastructure we’re going to be there for our province and the residents of my riding.”
Clark adds he’s going to continue to ensure that our riding is in the front line of Ontario’s expansion to primary care while also ensuring that we get our fair share of housing enabling water system money.
