Conservative Michael Barrett will be heading back to Ottawa according to local students.
Several schools in Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes participated in Student Vote Canada with students getting a chance to cast ballots for the actual candidates running.
In our riding, Barrett came in first with 46.73 % of the vote.
Liberal Lorna Jean Edmonds was second with 501 votes and Paul Lancione of the NDP was third with 232.
Just over 2,000 local students took part in the national parallel election program.
