You can still cast a ballot in the federal election, even if you haven’t received your voter information card.
That’s one thing that Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes Elections Canada Returning Officer Cheryl Oleniuk says she wants voters to know with the federal election on the horizon.
As long as you bring an approved piece of identification with you, Oleniuk says you’ll be able to vote and take advantage of advance polls which are being held this Easter long weekend.
Oleniuk tells Moose FM that people are also voting early by visiting the riding’s main office in Brockville and their second office in Kemptville.
“We’ve seen an excellent turnout so far, every time I walk through the office there’s always a voter there.”
Oleniuk adds they are also looking for people to come work at the offices leading up to and on Election Day, April 28.
