There were no injuries but the cause of a fire at a Kemptville building is under investigation.
North Grenville Fire Chief Randy Urslak tells Moose FM that firefighters were called out on Monday afternoon to the fire at a building at 310 Prescott Street, between Reuben Crescent and Elizabeth Street.
He says flames were visible from the first floor and they were put out quickly with the fire brought under control.
Urslak says there were no injuries to any people or animals that were inside.
He adds that they aren’t sure how the blaze started and while the Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office will be notified, they won’t be required to come out.
As for damage, Urslak says the outer structure of the building “is still fine” but “there was quite a bit of damage caused to the interior”.
A sign hanging in the front of the building says it was occupied by Exit Realty by Design.
