A call by a local high school student for more people to become organ donors continues to pick up support.
Ethan Bos first began advocating for Green Shirt Day, held every April 7, in 2019 following a bus crash involving the Humboldt Broncos hockey team in 2018 left sixteen people dead.
One of the victims, player Logan Boulet, was a donor whose organ’s helped save six lives and that inspired Bos to want to encourage others to do the same.
Bos also helped lead to the creation of Bill 112, declaring April 7th as Green Shirt Day across Ontario.
He stopped by North Grenville Council on Wednesday night and tells Moose FM the organ donor conversation is a vital one to have.
“So that way parents and family members know what you want, whether you want your organs to be donated or not, make people know.”
You can learn more about registering as an organ donor on the provincial government’s website, or at any ServiceOntario location.
