Excitement is building ahead of the Kemptville 73’s returning to the Central Canada Hockey League playoffs for the first time since the 2020-21 season.
Kemptville clinched a playoff spot with a 5-nothing win over the Cornwall Colts in their last game of the regular season setting up a first-round playoff series with the Carleton Place Canadians.
The last time Kemptville and Carleton Place met in the playoffs was in 2020-21 when the Canadians won the best-of-seven semi-final series four games to two.
Kemptville General Manager Terry Nichols tells Moose FM that his focus is on the series but also on seeing the players get a chance to continue their careers.
“Our goal is to see these guys move on and there’s several of them that have opportunities, there’s a couple still waiting and talking to various teams.”
The first game of the series is Thursday night in Carleton Place with the second coming on Friday evening at the North Grenville Municipal Centre.
