Ice-clearing operations are underway throughout the St. Lawrence River.
The Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation says ice-clearing began over the weekend.
All ice fishermen, snowmobile operators, and all-terrain vehicle operators shouldn’t use the areas where ice has been cleared so that they avoid numerous open water leads and unstable ice cover caused by the clearing.
The work is being done in preparation for the seaway’s upcoming navigation season.
