Municipal officials say during spring thaw, roads become softer and weaker, prone to pot holing, rutting, and frost heaving.
That mean’s heavy vehicle traffic on these roads can cause permanent damage.
Temporary signs are in place to indicate when a road is off-limits to vehicles exceeding five tonnes per axle, with the restrictions generally ending at the end of April.
