“Never drive impaired.”
That message is from East Region Ontario Provincial Police who say they have seen a slight increase in the number of impaired drivers so far this year.
Police say 327 drivers have been arrested and charged so far this year in the region, compared to 319 at this time in 2024.
OPP officers across eastern Ontario say they are on the roads day and night looking for those who engage in dangerous driving habits like impaired driving.
They add that RIDE programs can happen anywhere, anytime.
