Check ahead if you’re getting on a flight

Check with your airline to stay up-to-date.

That advice from Krista Kealey, the Vice President of Communications and Public Affairs with the Ottawa International Airport Authority, who says eleven flights that were intended to land in Toronto on Monday were diverted to Ottawa after a Delta airlines flight crashed at Pearson International Airport.

She says that, coupled with the residual impacts from the storms that have been in the region over the last week, led to delays and cancelations.

While the situation has improved, Kealey says it’s best to check on the status of your flight ahead of time to see if there are any impacts.

She tells Moose FM the more you know the better you’ll be prepared.

“Arming yourself with up-to-date information is always the best line of action when you’re planning to fly and hopefully the snow will stay away for a little while.”

The Greater Toronto Airports Authority says there were no serious injuries in Monday’s incident.
