North Grenville Chamber supporting local businesses as U.S. tariff challenges loom

The North Grenville Chamber of Commerce says its partnering with the Ontario Chamber of Commerce to support local businesses amid challenges from U.S. tariffs.

Despite the 30-day extension put on the start of the tariffs, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce says it’s ramping up its efforts to educate and support business owners.

As part of the initiative, the OCC is providing a comprehensive list of affected products, which will be available to members through both the Ontario Chamber’s website and the North Grenville Chamber of Commerce website.

Officials say having access to the latest and most accurate information will empower business owners to make informed decisions in a rapidly changing economic environment.

North Grenville Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Terri-Lyn McEvoy says it’s important to keep those who need support front of mind.

“Our local businesses and local owners may have some U.S. products but they are locally owned and they are the ones helping support our communities.”

If they come into place, the chamber says they will be highlighting businesses that have successfully adapted to the tariff changes and sharing their strategies.
