Prescott’s Mayor says he is waiting to see exactly how the resignation announcement by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will impact things at a municipal level.
Trudeau announced earlier this week that he will resign as leader of the federal Liberals and Prime Minister once a new party leader is selected.
Meanwhile, Parliament has been prorogued until March 24.
Gauri Shankar says that has left questions for many, including groups who have approached the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville.
“We had a delegation from a group that were all worried about their funding because now that the government has been prorogued they do not know if they are going to get the same funding, less funding or more funding going forward.”
Shankar adds that he is following what is going on in Ottawa on a daily basis to try and learn more.
