Edwardsburgh Cardinal hands out annual awards

Edwardsburgh-Cardinal is celebrating their best and brightest.
The township handed out its annual awards earlier this week to mark what they call “exceptional contributions”.
Among them are the South Edwardsburgh Public School Breakfast Club as Community/Volunteer Group of the Year and Heidi Garswood as Youth Citizen of the Year.
Garswood, a resident of Johnstown and a student at Queen’s University studying Applied Science –Engineering, was honored for her commitment to community, sport, and education.
Lori Lurges was also awarded as Citizen of the Year.
Lori founded the READ (Reading, Enjoyment, and Development) Program, which offers personalized lessons tailored to each child’s needs at the Edwardsburgh Cardinal Public Libraries.
Officials say the awards serve as an opportunity to reflect on the achievements of
individuals, businesses, and organizations that have made a lasting impact in the Township of Edwardsburgh Cardinal.
