Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police are continuing to investigate threats directed toward St. Michael Catholic High School in Kemptville.
In a statement released to the My Kemptville Now Newsroom, police say they understand the stress and concern these incidents have caused for students, parents, school staff and everyone in the community.
The school was closed for a fourth straight day on Tuesday as the investigation into the threats continues.
Police say they remain committed to locating the individual or individuals responsible and holding them accountable. They add that they cannot speculate on any connection between the two recent incidents and one in mid-September, but add that is part of the ongoing investigation.
Anyone with information that may assist the investigation is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
Police say any questions about school closures or re-openings should be directed to the school or the school board.
Officials with the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario issued a letter to parents Monday evening advising that the school would be closed Tuesday.
It comes as school officials continue to consult with the Ministry of Education, the Ontario Provincial Police and threat assessment professionals.
The school was also locked down on September 13 after a threatening message was received.
Online learning and support will continue to be offered to students.
School officials say they will provide an update on Tuesday.
