Franco-Ontarian heritage is being celebrated in North Grenville.
A flag raising is scheduled for Wednesday at the North Grenville Municipal Centre to markĀ Franco-Ontarian Day.
It’s being put on by the municipality in collaboration with two local French schools.
Franco-Ontarian Day is celebrated annually across Ontario on Sept. 25 to recognize the vibrant culture and history of Francophones in the province. The iconic green and white Franco-Ontarian flag, first raised in 1975, symbolizes Franco-Ontarian pride.
The ceremony is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. and the public is welcome.
