Contractor chosen for County Road 43 expansion, Counties vote on final approval next week

The expansion to County Road 43 is one step closer to starting construction.

United Counties of Leeds and Grenville council is set to vote next week on whether to approve the tender for construction on the project.

The tender was issued back in September, and at a North Grenville Committee of the Whole meeting this week it was awarded to R.W. Tomlinson Limited, the company that submitted the lowest bid.

If the Counties approve the tender, the project will cost $38.9 million dollars.

It’ll see County Road 43 expanded to four lanes between County Road 44 and the roundabout at Collonade Drive. A new, four-lane bridge will also be built to replace the current two-lane one.

Counties Council votes to approve the selection on December 14th.
