Our community raised more than $200,000 to help reduce transfers out of the Kemptville District Hospital (KDH).
The hospital’s fundraising arm, the KDH Foundation, has ended its “CT Scanner Lottery” fundraising event.
The initiative saw the Foundation selling tickets to a raffle, with all the proceeds going towards its ongoing initiative to buy a CT scanner.
The equipment would make it easier for nurses and doctors to diagnose and treat internal injuries and illnesses like cancer, meaning patients wouldn’t need to travel to Ottawa to get treatment.
Foundation Coordinator Kristy Carriere says the initiative brought in $203,410, surpassing both her team’s initial goal of $100,000 and their secondary $200,000 goal.
The winner of the raffle, the owner of a local landscaping business, received a 2023 Camaro SS Convertible sports car.
