Ten-unit “Court House Apartments” complex now open in Kemptville

The project to convert the old Kemptville courthouse into a housing development is now complete.

The “Court House Apartments” facility in downtown Kemptville features ten units for people to live in.

According to municipal staff, six of the units will be for people on the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville’s social housing list, with rent prices adjusted based on their income.

Three more will be used as emergency and transitional housing, and the last will be reserved for Connect Youth to help youth struggling with homelessness.

Work on the project began during the pandemic, with funding from the Ontario government and the United Counties.

In a social media post, Mayor Nancy Peckford says more affordable housing announcements are coming soon.

In the meantime, you can see the Court House Apartments building on Water Street.
